Ryan Bingham was born in Hobbs, NM, grew up in West Texas and went to high school in Houston. He began bull riding in his late teens and spent several years on the rodeo circuit. After much critical acclaim for his first two studio releases, Bingham collaborated with Grammy-winning producer T Bone Burnett on the soundtrack for the film Crazy Heart. The film’s theme song “The Weary Kind” earned Ryan Bingham an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and Critics’ Choice Award as well as a 2011 Grammy Award for “Best Song Written for a Motion Picture. The Americana Music Association honored him with the organization’s top award in 2010: “Artist of the Year”. Ryan and The Dead Horses released their third studio album Junky Star in August 2010. The album debuted in the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 Chart & in the Top 10 on the Billboard Rock Album Chart, making it his highest charting release to date. In 2012 Bingham parted ways with his band and label released his fourth studio album Tomorrowland.
